Born & Raised in Trinidad, this talented singer is going to make his mark on American soil. Dakeye, whose real name is Richard Marshall is no newcomer to the music business. He’s been singing all his life.

Dakeye moved from Trinidad to Houston, Texas in 1984. He formed a reggae band there, called Judah Star. After recording several singles with them, in 1987 Dakeye moved to Los Angeles and in 1994 formed Detour Posse with the help of drummer Zebbie.

In 1999, while still working with the Detour Posse, Dakeye embarked on a solo career, recording for veteran producers like Sly & Robbie and Fabian Cooke. In the summer of 1999 Dakeye, in association with Kevin Brown, recorded several songs, including the hit single Ever in Love which is an impressive lovers rock tune over the Lecturer rhythm. This song has been on the top ten charts in Miami, Texas and California.

With his sweet, soulful lyrics & melodies and his dark, penetrating eyes, Dakeye is always a favorite of the ladies. Some have said that his sweet, strong voice reminds them of Garnet Silk or Mikey Spice. He is an impressive singer and songwriter and will be leading the Detour Posse into the 21st Century.
